Juice Dan: How does the power of the ocean affect you?
Steve Olson: It’s kind of similar to the cleansing of the water in the womb. Have you ever heard that?
Juice Dan: There’s a first time for everything.
Steve Olson: Oh, really? Well, it’s true, supposedly.
Juice Dan: Is that why you surf?
Steve Olson: No. I surf because I like to smash.
Juice Dan: How does that translate into skating?
Steve Olson: It’s the same, and I’m really interested in drawing lines.
Juice Dan: How about music?
Steve Olson: Bass lines, guitar lines, vocal patterns… I don’t know. Everything is about a line, if you’re standing in line to get on a ride…
Juice Dan: Or to go to the bathroom.
Steve Olson: Same difference.
Juice Dan: If you had to describe your art in one word, how would you describe it?
Steve Olson: Dope. [laughs]
