It’s time to roll up the red carpet and roll out with full Venice attitude. You never know what you’re going to get from Ancell, but it’s 100% guaranteed to be captivating, inspirational, provocative and spectacular. What else would you expect from the genius that designed the Spitfire wheels logo and was also bounced from teaching at the Beijing Institute in China for “improper political and spiritual activity”? Did I mention his ingenious installation of machine gun-toting hula girls? If that’s not enough to pique your interest, just take Stecyk’s word for it…
As a wise man once said of Kevin Ancell, “A career of serious survival led him to the clarity which drowns out weapons of mass seduction. Genuine skills have their own tariff and Kevin Ancell negotiates the ignominious existence of art stardom unlike anyone else.” – C.R. Stecyk III
RVCA/ANP artist Kevin Ancell returns to his stomping grounds in Venice to unveil his new work on Thursday, October 1st from 7:30 pm – 11pm. The show runs from October 1st – 15th. The exhibition, featuring masterful sculptures, classically composed paintings and mixed media pieces, is his first major solo show in years. This show is open to the public. Hope to see you there.
