One of the longest running brands in skateboarding, born and raised on the sacred grounds of Venice Beach, Z-Flex continues to support the neighborhood and pulled out all of the stops for the first annual Jay Boy Classic. Jay and some of the most legendary Venice skaters like George Wilson, Marty Grimes, Pat Ngoho, Aaron Scott and Jesse Martinez were on hand to push the new generation kids to their best, and it worked. The contest felt more like a heated session than a contest and, in my opinion, that’s the way it should be. Props to Brad and everyone at Z-Flex for hosting such a great event and we look forward to the next one.

Z-FLEX PRESS RELEASE:
April 12th, 2014, Venice Beach Skatepark was home to the Z-Flex Jay Boy Classic. Created for unsponsored bowl skaters to show their skills, Z-Flex put on the competition to give each entrant the shot at a grand prize of one year flow sponsorship on Z-Flex.
Warm-ups and registration started at 10 am and by 12:30 the 40 slots in the competition were full with hungry bowl skaters from as far away as the United Kingdom. The Z-Flex team, along with numerous legends from the Venice skate scene from past generations, were on hand to set up, skate and judge the event. The 40 riders were cut to eight finalists and during an intense finals heat, Andrew Miller (Scottsdale, AZ), Spacoli (Albuquerque, NM), and Andrew Wallace (Houston, TX) emerged as the top three.
The bleachers were packed and crowds flooded around the bowl to cheer on each finalist. Coming out in front, and taking home the Z-Flex flow sponsorship (along with loads of other prizes from our sponsors), was the winner, Andrew Wallace. Jay Adams was on hand to be the first to congratulate Andrew.
Thanks to everyone that came out to support the event and thanks to the event sponsors: Hurley, Osiris, Tracker, Olloclip, Venice Originals, Vita Coco, Juice Magazine and the Venice Skate Association. See you next year!
