Since 1978, George Powell has stood by his convictions of building, supporting and elevating the skateboarding community, while Stacy Peralta has become one of the most talented filmmakers ever to translate his skateboarding experience and understanding to a silver screen. In this short film, Stacy highlights the manufacturing commitment George has to bringing American-made, high quality products into the market with the proven intention of improving the progression and performance of skateboarders worldwide. If you’re looking for great role models in today’s chaotic skate industry, look no further than George Powell and Stacy Peralta.
Here are a few words from Stacy Peralta about the film…
“So few people, including skateboarders, really have any idea of what it takes to make something as simple as a modern skateboard or even a single urethane wheel. George Powell is one of the very few skateboard builders in the world today who still manufactures most of his products in America under one roof just as he has always done, and so I was inspired to make this short film on him and his company, Skate One, and to share it with all of you. I hope you enjoy.”
