Jim “Red Dog” Muir, Scott Oster & John Cardiel Collector Skateboards

Jim Muir comes from a time when the shape and dimensions of a performance skateboard were changing as fast as skateboarding was progressing in its maneuvers and terrain. In the ’70s, Jim discovered that the boards on the market, at the time, were not able to handle the type of skateboarding that he and the Z-Boys were doing and thus, Jim Muir the board builder, was born. Through the ’80s, Jim and his crew were pushing the limits of possibility on all levels and Red Dog was able to create boards and graphics, which are still sought after and very relevant today. Ric Clayton hand drew some of the most iconic graphics in skateboard history for Dogtown and there is no better artist to continue this tradition for this new collaboration. Dogtown has had some of the most celebrated skaters in history on its roster and this collab with Branch includes Scott Oster, John Cardiel and the man himself, James Muir. This collab is also a family affair including Jim’s brother, Mike Muir, and a Suicidal Tendencies limited edition offering as well. Props to Branch Distribution for recognizing the value of the history of skateboarding and for keeping it real all these years Johnny S. knows what’s up. 1. Not sure why Jim did this without the REAL DOGTOWN OG artist Mr Wes Humpston.. Yo JIm, get Wes to do some art on these board and they might mean something. Until then it’s not OG DOGTOWN.
