Harley-Davidson invited us to the launch party of their newest custom bike, the Crossbone. The legendary Viper room played host to a motley group of motorcycle enthusiasts, celebrities and select media. The Crossbone stems from the dark customs line in which Harley takes inspiration from their roots of the early knuckles and pans while including modern accents and technologies. This is a softtail model with a gloss black springer front end with chrome springs and it looks badass. Skateboarding was being displayed in the background with video highlights from the Emerica wild ride film. Harley also announced the full endorsement of UFC fighting as well. Skateboarding shares many of the fundamental core values by which the core motorcycle enthusuists live their lives. To quote “Easy Rider”,”We want to be free. We want to be free to ride our machines without being hassled by the man. And we want to get loaded.” Well, there’s a little more to it than that, of course, but not too much. Harley-Davidson has been building motorcycles and shaping the culture since 1903 and their longevity has been based on integrity and the quality of their bikes. The new Crossbone will certainly hold up to that standard as the Harley-Davidson legacy continues.
