Chicago has some rockin’ music festivals each year, but three-day long Riot Fest ranks at the top of our list. This year’s show is touting rad bands like headliners – and my personal favorites – The Replacements supported by bands such as Pixies, Dinosaur Jr., Toots and the Maytals, Surfer Blood, Rocket from the Crypt and more.
The festival originally began back in 2005 as a multi-venue weekend of punk and rock ‘n roll. It has grown since then to fill Humboldt Park on the West side of Chicago. They also expanded to hosting shows in Denver and Toronto. For all the info go to www.riotfest.org.
