OHANA<\/strong>–the annual three-day festival curated by Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder–will once again bring its mix of powerful headlining sets, standout collaborations and performances from emerging talent to the beautiful Doheny State Beach<\/strong> in Dana Point, CA.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Set for Friday, September 27-Sunday, September 29<\/strong>, this year\u2019s OHANA <\/strong>will be led by performances from the Strokes, Eddie Vedder<\/strong>, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tash Sultana, Incubus, Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats<\/strong> and more than 25 acts<\/strong> throughout the three-day weekend of music (full line-up is below).  Tickets for this year\u2019s OHANA<\/strong> go on sale Friday, March 8 at 10:00 AM www.OhanaFest.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now in its fourth consecutive year, OHANA<\/strong> has become known for its unexpected collaborations.  Last year (2018), Vedder<\/strong> showed up throughout the festival joining the John Doe<\/strong> Folk Trio<\/strong> (X<\/strong>\u2019s \u201cThe New World\u201d) on Friday<\/strong>, Johnny Marr<\/strong> (The Smiths\u2019<\/strong> \u201cThere Is a Light That Never Goes Out\u201d) on Saturday<\/strong> and closing out the weekend by appearing with Mumford & Sons<\/strong> on Sunday<\/strong> for a rocking version of Bob Dylan\u2019s<\/strong> \u201cAll Along the Watchtower.\u201d  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, during his Saturday headlining set, Vedder<\/strong> was joined by Liz Phair<\/strong> on Pearl Jam\u2019s<\/strong> \u201cBetter Man\u201d; later in the set he was accompanied musically and vocally by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers\u2019 Scott Thurston<\/strong> on three songs (\u201cWildflowers,\u201d \u201cRoom At The Top,\u201d and \u201cI Won’t Back Down\u201d) in tribute to his friend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As VEDDER<\/strong> explained in a Q&A in advance of last year\u2019s event, \u201cIt\u2019s been a true honor to work with the community and organizers to create a stimulating vibe and uplifting atmosphere for the great crowds and incredible musicians who come out to play in the park.  To have the Pixies, X, Mudhoney, Jack Johnson, etc., etc, etc. play your festival has been so satisfying.  Far beyond our initial vision for it all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSeeing Fiona Apple play a truly joyful set in the sun, I know I\u2019ll never forget that.  Being there while Lana Del Rey and Chan Marshall (Cat Power), hung out for the first time.  (Lana, who is singing on Cat Power\u2019s new single.  When you get to witness that and know you\u2019ve had a small part in that, there\u2019s definitely a healthy sense of pride you can glean from that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPracticing a song backstage with Elvis Costello.  Another highlight.  When he starts singing from the chair across from you, you\u2019re hit with the realization that he is equipped with his own personal P.A. system in his throat.  Perfectly tuned and a voice that\u2019s like no other.  It\u2019s Elvis!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
