{"id":71177,"date":"2019-03-09T09:00:03","date_gmt":"2019-03-09T17:00:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/juicemagazine.com\/home\/?p=71177"},"modified":"2019-03-08T08:28:45","modified_gmt":"2019-03-08T16:28:45","slug":"ohana-festival-lineup-for-sept-27-29th-at-doheny-state-beach-california","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/juicemagazine.com\/home\/ohana-festival-lineup-for-sept-27-29th-at-doheny-state-beach-california\/","title":{"rendered":"Ohana Festival Lineup for Sept 27-29th at Doheny State Beach, California"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>OHANA<\/strong>&#8211;the annual three-day festival curated by Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder&#8211;will once again bring its mix of powerful headlining sets, standout collaborations and performances from emerging talent to the beautiful <strong>Doheny State Beach<\/strong> in <strong>Dana Point, CA.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Set for <strong>Friday, September 27-Sunday, September 29<\/strong>, this year\u2019s <strong>OHANA <\/strong>will be led by performances from the<strong> Strokes, Eddie Vedder<\/strong>, <strong>the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tash Sultana, Incubus, Nathaniel Rateliff &amp; the Night Sweats<\/strong> and more than <strong>25 acts<\/strong> throughout the three-day weekend of music (full line-up is below).&nbsp; Tickets for this year\u2019s <strong>OHANA<\/strong> go on sale Friday, March 8 at 10:00 AM <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ohanafest.com\/\">www.OhanaFest.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now in its fourth consecutive year, <strong>OHANA<\/strong> has become known for its unexpected collaborations.&nbsp; Last year (2018), <strong>Vedder<\/strong> showed up throughout the festival joining the <strong>John Doe<\/strong> <strong>Folk Trio<\/strong> (<strong>X<\/strong>\u2019s \u201cThe New World\u201d) on <strong>Friday<\/strong>, <strong>Johnny Marr<\/strong> (<strong>The Smiths\u2019<\/strong> \u201cThere Is a Light That Never Goes Out\u201d) on <strong>Saturday<\/strong> and closing out the weekend by appearing with <strong>Mumford &amp; Sons<\/strong> on <strong>Sunday<\/strong> for a rocking version of <strong>Bob Dylan\u2019s<\/strong> \u201cAll Along the Watchtower.\u201d&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, during his Saturday headlining set, <strong>Vedder<\/strong> was joined by <strong>Liz Phair<\/strong> <strong>on Pearl Jam\u2019s<\/strong> \u201cBetter Man\u201d; later in the set he was accompanied musically and vocally by <strong>Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers\u2019 Scott Thurston<\/strong> on three songs (\u201cWildflowers,\u201d \u201cRoom At The Top,\u201d and \u201cI Won&#8217;t Back Down\u201d) in tribute to his friend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As <strong>VEDDER<\/strong> explained in a Q&amp;A in advance of last year\u2019s event, \u201cIt\u2019s been a true honor to work with the community and organizers to create a stimulating vibe and uplifting atmosphere for the great crowds and incredible musicians who come out to play in the park.&nbsp; To have the Pixies, X, Mudhoney, Jack Johnson, etc., etc, etc. play your festival has been so satisfying.&nbsp; Far beyond our initial vision for it all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSeeing Fiona Apple play a truly joyful set in the sun, I know I\u2019ll never forget that.&nbsp; Being there while Lana Del Rey and Chan Marshall (Cat Power), hung out for the first time.&nbsp; (Lana, who is singing on Cat Power\u2019s new single.&nbsp; When you get to witness that and know you\u2019ve had a small part in that, there\u2019s definitely a healthy sense of pride you can glean from that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPracticing a song backstage with Elvis Costello.&nbsp; Another highlight.&nbsp; When he starts singing from the chair across from you, you\u2019re hit with the realization that he is equipped with his own personal P.A. system in his throat.&nbsp; Perfectly tuned and a voice that\u2019s like no other.&nbsp; It\u2019s Elvis!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>OHANA<\/strong> 2019 line-up (<strong>March 4<\/strong>) is as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Strokes, Eddie Vedder, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tash Sultana, Incubus, Nathaniel Rateliff &amp; The Night Sweats, LP, Glen Hansard, Jenny Lewis, Devendra Banhart, Donavon Frankenreiter, Lukas Nelson &amp; The Promise Of The Real, Benjamin Booker, Fontaines D.C., Madison Ryann Ward, Jacob Banks, Las Cafeteras, White Reaper, Mudhoney, Sunflower Bean, Poolside, Dustin Kensrue, Mt.
