Is there anything that hasn\u2019t been built to skate yet that you\u2019d like to see built?<\/strong>
\nA handrail made entirely of wax and then light it and skate it!<\/p>\n

Best road trip you ever took?<\/strong>
\nKing of the Road 2012 was epic because I was with the Anti-Hero squad and those dudes are a riot!<\/p>\n

Are there any skate-related charities that you support?<\/strong>
\nSheckler Foundation.<\/p>\n

What music have you been listening to lately?<\/strong>
\nBeen listening to a lot of classic rock because it never gets old, and some\u00a0old school hip hop always gets me stoked!<\/p>\n

What do you consider the responsibilities of a professional skateboarder?<\/strong>
\nJust to always be out skating and working on some new stuff, as well as making your sponsors happy.\u00a0It\u2019s also important to pay attention to what is happening in the skate industry and make sure your up to date with all the new stuff that\u2019s going down.<\/p>\n

Which skate shops do you support and go to the most?<\/strong>
\nCoastal Riders in Surrey, B.C. and Street Dreams Boardshop in North Delta, as well as Cowtown Skate Shop in Phoenix and all the Rhythm Skate Shops out there!<\/p>\n

Favorite skate photo of all time?<\/strong>
\nMachnau noseblunt on the BCIT 16 sixteen rail back in the day.<\/p>\n

What is your take on girls skateboarding?<\/strong>
\nIt\u2019s awesome!\u00a0I have always been a fan of watching the girls skate! They have a lot of fun and are always positive\u00a0good vibes to be around!<\/p>\n

What skateboarding memorabilia do you have that means the most to you?<\/strong>
\nMy collection of old and new skate videos!<\/p>\n

Who contributes the most to your local skate scene?<\/strong>
\nIn Vancouver, it\u2019s definitely Magnus Hanson, but down here in Cali, the scene is already so big that nobody really stands out.<\/p>\n

Top three favorite skate tricks?<\/strong>
\nFs flips, hard flips and 3 flips.<\/p>\n

Do you think skateboarding should be in the Olympics?<\/strong>
\nWith the growing rate of skateboarding\u2019s popularity\u00a0and the worldwide friendship that skateboarding brings to the table, yes, I think it would be pretty rad!<\/p>\n

What is your proudest moment in skateboarding so far?<\/strong>
\nMy proudest moment must be when Chet Thomas told me that I was going to have a pro board for Darkstar. I was really hyped and proud of my achievements in skateboarding at that time.<\/p>\n

ABOUT THE JUICE MAGAZINE STATE OF SKATE:<\/strong><\/p>\n

When we started Juice Magazine 22 years ago, you could count the number of skateparks on one hand and grindable pool coping was mostly a distant memory. Now there are thousands of skateparks all over the world, along with a vast quantity of DIY spots built to skate. In 1993, the majority of skateboarders listened to punk rock or hip hop exclusively. Now skateboarders listen to almost every kind of sound created. Two decades ago, skateboarding related charities were non-existent. Today, there are numerous non-profits giving back to skateboarding in many ways. One of the most important differences between now and then is that, 22 years ago, there was a clear division between old school and new school skateboarding. Now that wall of separation has followed the same path as the Berlin Wall, allowing for an unprecedented unification of skateboarders all over the globe. Great strides have been made for girls that skate as well as the acceptance of skate history and long overdue recognition for skateboarding\u2019s pioneers and its artifacts. At the same time, the current generation of skateboarders is taking skateboarding to new heights, previously unimaginable. As the landscape of the skateboarding industry changes on a daily basis, and the topic of skateboarding in the Olympics rears its head once again, along with the disturbing subject of who controls skateboarding being tossed about by corporate entities, we decided it was time to take a good look at the State of Skate. We asked 20 questions to 100 skateboarders, ages 8 to 58, and found that skateboarding is as diverse as the skateboarders that are addicted to it, no one controls skateboarding except skateboarders, and the State of Skate is savage and strong.
