Frontier Records (http:\/\/www.frontierrecords.com\/), the independent Los Angeles-based record label & Part Time Punks (www.Parttimepunks.com) today confirmed they are presenting the long-awaited Dangerhouse reunion show set for Sunday November 9, 2014 at The Echoplex in Los Angeles. This is the first time that only Dangerhouse artists have appeared on one bill, and the first time Rhino 39 has played an LA show in 20 years.<\/p>\n
The Dangerhouse reunion show is more than four years in the making and coincides with the recent Frontier Records\/Dangerhouse box set on 45 R.P.M. vinyl and CD DANGERHOUSE COMPLETE SINGLES COLLECTED 1977-1979 via Munster Records in Spain. In 2013, Frontier reissued Dangerhouse\u2019s YES LA, a one-sided 12\u201d EP featuring the Germs, X, The Bags, Eyes, Black Randy & the Metrosquad and Alleycats\u00a0 In the early \u201890s, Frontier initially released two compilations of out of print Dangerhouse material.<\/p>\n
The Dangerhouse reunion show at the Echoplex is all ages and begins at 4pm on November 9. Frontier Records is owned and operated by Lisa Fancher and will celebrate its 35th anniversary next year. Based in the San Fernando Valley since its inception, Fancher is instrumental in releasing classic punk, alternative country, paisley underground, goth and pop records that are considered classic \u2018must-haves\u2019 to critics and serious music collectors alike.<\/p>\n
Among the first to tap into the Los Angeles punk scene, Frontier Records\u2019 initial success was releasing the classic Circle Jerks\u2019 record Group Sex. This was later followed by Orange County’s Adolescents\u2019 debut known as the Blue Album, TSOL’s Dance with Me and Christian Death’s Only Theatre of Pain. However, it was the eponymous debut LP from Suicidal Tendencies that spawned the unexpected MTV smash \u201cInstitutionalized” that put Frontier on the map.
