CE-ECSC ANNOUNCES DATES FOR 52nd ANNUAL EVENT<\/p>\n
(Virginia Beach, Va. \u2013 March 13, 2014) –\u00a0 The Virginia Beach Jaycees today confirmed the dates for this year\u2019s 52nd annual Coastal Edge East Coast Surfing Championships presented by Vans (CE-ECSC).\u00a0 This year\u2019s event will be held as originally scheduled, Monday, August 18, 2014 through Sunday Aug. 24.<\/p>\n
With the announcement, the Virginia Beach Jaycees, the producers of the event, reaffirmed their commitment to host the annual beach sports and entertainment festival at the resort city\u2019s oceanfront.<\/p>\n
\u201cAny concerns about certain operational expenses and cooperation with municipal departments have been addressed to our mutual satisfaction,\u201d stated Charlie Pitts, a Virginia Beach Jaycee and chairman of the 52nd annual CE-ECSC.\u00a0 \u201cI can assure all CE-ECSC competitors, sponsors and fans that all parties involved with bringing about the world\u2019s second oldest surfing competition are committed to doing so again this August.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cFor over 50 years, ECSC has delighted our out-of-town visitors and local residents, and served as a valued partner with Virginia Beach tourism,\u201d said James B. A multi-sport and entertainment festival, the Coastal Edge East Coast Surfing Championships presented by Vans is held each year in Virginia Beach, Va.\u00a0 Professional and amateur surfing is the core of the event and involves hundreds of surfers competing in 35 age and skill divisions.
