Some of those works include: a structure by iconic skateboarder <a title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/unsceneshreveport.com\/steveolson\" target=\"_blank\">Steve Olson<\/a>\u00a0that can be skateboarded; a puppet theater rendition of the European folktale \u201cThe Red Shoes\u201d by Swedish musician <a title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/unsceneshreveport.com\/theresaandersson1\" target=\"_blank\">Theresa Andersson<\/a>; and a house that makes music by <a title=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/unsceneshreveport.com\/airlift1\/\" target=\"_blank\">New Orleans Airlift<\/a>, an organization founded in 2007 to collaborate and engage with diverse communities locally and around the globe.<\/p>\n<p>Olson&#8217;s Skateboard Installation will be on February 15, 2014 from 10:30 to 11:30am.<\/p>\n<p>Located at:<br \/>\n801 Crockett Street<br \/>\nShreveport, LA 71101<br \/>\n(318) 673-6500<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/unsceneshreveport.com\/steveolson\/\">http:\/\/unsceneshreveport.com\/steveolson\/ <\/a><br \/>\nUNSCENE! PROJECT DESCRIPTION:<br \/>\nThe Shreveport Regional Arts Council (SRAC) will create a monthly series, UNSCENE!, which will UNleash SHREVEPORT COMMON, debuting the innovative look, feel, tastes, smells, and sounds of this new Uncommon Cultural Community, moving the promise of the Vision Plan from\u00a0 strategic action plan to implementation.\u00a0 Academy Award winning director, animator, public art creator, and UNprecedented visionary Brandon Oldenburg serves as the UNSCENE! Artistic Director, overseeing a diverse Artists\u2019 Management Team to curate 12 UNSCENE! events comprised of national, regional and local artists who will create and present UNconventional new works. Each UNpredictable, UNexpected, UNabashed, and UNabridged \u201cUN\u201d experience will leave an indelible mark that permanently advances SHREVEPORT COMMON.<\/p>\n<p>Each UNSCENE! experience will be UNlike any festival \u201cscene\u201d in Louisiana: 12 multi-disciplined, pre-meditated but improvisational day-through-night Saturdays will feature transformational interactive Arts activities.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Examples of these activities include Public Art Installations, Films projected in and on the buildings, Exhibitions in UNexpected spaces, Spoken Word on stoops, Theatre in the air, Dance in the garden, giant Puppet Theatre in the alley, a juried Street Arts Market, innovative Scavenger Hunts, Walking, Biking, and Float Parades.<\/p>\n<p>UNSCENE! is funded through grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, ARTPLACE America, the Community Foundation of North Louisiana, and the City of Shreveport.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>http:\/\/vimeo.com\/64572692 SRAC\u2019s monthly arts series returns this year with a full schedule of new artists presenting unconventional works within Shreveport Common.
