NEW YORK, Dec. 7, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The producers of “12-12-12,”\u00a0which will be broadcasted live and providing viewing access to nearly\u00a0two billion people across the world through various platforms,\u00a0announced today that The Rolling Stones will join the esteemed line-up\u00a0of artists performing at Madison Square Garden on December 12, 2012.\u00a0The concert event will feature an all-star musical line-up including\u00a0Bon Jovi, Eric Clapton, Dave Grohl, Billy Joel, Alicia Keys, Bruce\u00a0Springsteen & the E Street Band, Eddie Vedder, Roger Waters, Kanye\u00a0West, The Who and Paul McCartney. “12-12-12″ is presented by Chase and\u00a0all proceeds will benefit the Robin Hood Relief Fund.<\/p>\n
Event producers James Dolan, John Sykes and Harvey Weinstein issued the\u00a0following joint statement: ” ’12-12-12′ will be the largest concert\u00a0event to ever hit the stage at Madison Square Garden, featuring the\u00a0biggest names in music and the world’s leading entertainers. It was\u00a0important to us that everyone possible around the world have the\u00a0ability to watch the show through multiple platforms, networks and\u00a0simulcasts and donate to this important cause.”<\/p>\n
“12-12-12” will be seen on 37 U.S. networks and television feeds\u00a0worldwide, radio and online streaming across North and South America,\u00a0Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia. Clear Channel Media and\u00a0Entertainment will broadcast the concert live on its radio stations\u00a0across the country, and will also video stream live on iHeartRadio,\u00a0Clear Channel’s digital radio service, and across the websites and\u00a0Facebook pages of its 850 stations. In addition, the concert will also\u00a0stream live across several major online video providers, as well as\u00a0being streamed and promoted by several digital media partners.<\/p>\n
As the tri-state region begins to recover from Sandy’s stunning and\u00a0acute devastation along the coastal areas of Long Island, Queens,\u00a0Staten Island and New Jersey, there remains an enormous task of\u00a0rebuilding both the infrastructure and thousands of shattered lives.\u00a0“12-12-12” presents an important opportunity for the community and\u00a0nation to come together to provide significant support to these\u00a0communities as they confront staggering short- and long-term issues.<\/p>\n
The concert is being produced by James Dolan, Executive Chairman of The\u00a0Madison Square Garden Company; John Sykes, President of Clear Channel\u00a0Entertainment Enterprises; and Harvey Weinstein, Co-Founder and\u00a0Chairman of The Weinstein Company.<\/p>\n
Thanks to the generosity of concert organizers, sponsors, and Robin\u00a0Hood’s board of directors, every single penny from ticket purchases and\u00a0donations will go to serve the victims of Hurricane Sandy through the\u00a0Robin Hood Relief Fund. The Robin Hood Relief Fund provides money,\u00a0material and know-how to local organizations that are serving families\u00a0and individuals in the regions hardest hit by the storm.<\/p>\n
