And, with its swampy, bluesy flavor that feels like a southern drawl, the song is unlike anything that fans have ever heard.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCool Zombie\u201d is available through iTunes (<a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/album\/cool-zombie-single\/id572331718\">https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/us\/album\/cool-zombie-single\/id572331718<\/a>), Amazon, Spotify and Rdio.<\/p>\n<p>Many people know that the GRAMMY-nominated artist, one of the most recognized faces of the 80s often known for his global hits including \u201cGoody Two Shoes\u201d, \u201cStand and Deliver\u201d, \u201cStrip\u201d and \u201cWonderful\u201d, lived in Los Angeles for several years while pursuing film roles.\u00a0 But most people never knew that later in life he quietly bought a house and lived in the small town of Dayton, Tennessee.\u00a0 \u201cCool Zombie\u201d speaks to this aspect of his life.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I lived in Tennessee for a couple of years,\u201d Adam explained.\u00a0 \u201cMy daughter, Lilly Caitlin, was born there. I decided that I was going to be like a house husband, so I was with her and changing nappies. With Adam on bass, they played around London and, in 1975, Adam\u2019s life changed when he saw The Sex Pistols play their first-ever gig supporting Bazooka Joe at St. Martins College of Art.\u00a0 He formed The Ants and built a huge cult following despite being unpopular with the established press and in 1979 they released their debut album, \u2018Dirk Wears White S\u00f8x\u2019 that topped the independent chart.\u00a0 In 1980, the Ants left Adam to work with former Sex Pistols manager Malcolm McLaren.<\/p>\n<p>Adam put his ideas for a new \u2018warrior\u2019 sound into practice and soon had a fresh band including two drummers.\u00a0 They signed a major-label deal and recorded the album \u2018Kings of the Wild Frontier\u2019 that became a huge hit, spent 12 weeks at number one and won a \u2018Best New Artist\u2019 Brit Award.\u00a0 Antmania swept the nation.\u00a0 \u2018Stand and Deliver\u2019 hit the number-one spot for five weeks and earned Adam an Ivor Novello award.\u00a0 \u2018Prince Charming\u2019 also hit number one and another 12 singles went Top 30.\u00a0 At one point, Adam had eight singles in the top 40 in one week!\u00a0 \u2018Goody Two Shoes\u2019 crowned both the UK and Australian charts.\u00a0 In the USA, Adam earned a \u2018Best New Artist\u2019 GRAMMY nomination in 1982.<\/p>\n<p>His first solo album, \u2018Friend or Foe\u2019, continued Adam\u2019s success in the USA, delivering three top-twenty hits on the Billboard Top 100 and in 1983 he appeared on NBC Television Network\u2019s \u2018Motown 25 Special\u2019 alongside Michael Jackson who performed his moonwalk dance for the first time.\u00a0 Adam\u2019s second solo album, \u2018Strip\u2019, produced the top-five UK hit \u2018Puss in Boots\u2019, but the BBC banned the video and the song for the follow-up single \u2018Strip\u2019.\u00a0 While recording his third solo album \u2019Vive Le Rock\u2019 with producer Tony Visconti, Adam started an acting career by\u00a0appearing in a theatre production.\u00a0 In 1985 Adam performed \u2018Vive Le Rock\u2019 at Live Aid and the next few years were devoted to acting in films including <em>Nomads, Love Bites<\/em> and <em>Slam Dance<\/em> and TV shows such as <em>The Equalizer, Tales from the Crypt<\/em> and <em>Sledge Hammer!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>During the 1990s Adam, again, split his time between chasing film\/TV roles while recording \u2018Manners and Physique\u2019 that included the hit \u2018<em>Room at the Top\u2019<\/em>.<strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>The follow-up album, \u2018Persuasion\u2019, remains in limbo without an official release to this day, but in 1994 Adam recorded \u2018Wonderful\u2019 in London\u2019s Abbey Road studios to be issued the following year with its self-titled single and the follow-up \u2018Gotta Be A Sin\u2019 which were accompanied with successful tours of the UK and the United States.\u00a0 It would be twelve years before Adam would play live again, acoustically, in 2006, where he read extracts from his autobiography \u2018Stand &amp; Deliver\u2019.<strong> <\/strong>The book laid bare Adam\u2019s childhood and his well-documented mental-health battles.\u00a0 In 2008, Adam received the \u2018Q Music Icon Award\u2019 alongside fellow recipients Paul McCartney and Bryan Ferry.<\/p>\n<p>This rekindled recognition resulted in a series of gigs in 2010 and Adam selected a new band.
