The name was originally inspired by Jack Kevorkian.<\/p>\n

Tell me about the band\u2019s name?<\/strong>
\nThe name was originally inspired by Jack Kevorkian. We were Jack Kevorkian and the Suicide Machines. There was a lot of problems with using his name. It was a little too funny. We\u2019ve got serious songs and silly songs, I think that\u2019s pretty healthy. But, when we were putting our first record out, we called his lawyer and asked to use his name, but they said no. It would have caused a little billing problem. But, I think he\u2019s flattered. We support what he does. It was a little bit of Michigan history too.<\/p>\n

How do you think the fickle \u2018punk\u2019 kids are going to react to your new look and sound?<\/strong>
\nIn Detroit we have an older and younger crowd. I hope that the kids who come to our shows are pretty open-minded. I respect the people who come to our shows. I think that even if kids pick it up and don\u2019t like it, they may revisit it in years to come. We\u2019ve all done that.<\/p>\n

How did you record this record?<\/strong>
\nWe demoed about 30 songs.\u00a0 There are some rockers that didn\u2019t make it, but they may show up somewhere, like a benefit comp.<\/p>\n

What do you listen to on the road?<\/strong>
\nAvail, that\u2019s mandatory. A little emo, some metal, rap. I can survive as long as I\u2019ve got a book and a skateboard, I\u2019m set.<\/p>\n

Where\u2019s your favorite cities to play?<\/strong>
\nDetroit, Chicago, New York.<\/p>\n

Any last words?<\/strong>
\nThink for yourself. Don\u2019t try to change the world, you gotta change yourself first.<\/p>\n
