You once said that surfing takes more guts than skating, can you elaborate?<\/strong>
\nTo me, being out in even medium-sized surf takes so much commitment it\u2019s astronomical. Skating definitely takes guts depending on what maneuver you are trying to do, but people that surf big waves are possibly the most courageous athletes in the world.<\/p>\n

On your board is a list of names and above them it says \u201cnames to draw from\u201d. What does this mean?<\/strong>
\nYes, I had this theory that I could name six complete athletes that would encompass a lifetime worth of influence. All you need to do to learn the proper approach to skating or surfing is to be exposed to the work that these people have accomplished. They would be the only influences you would need to know for an entire lifetime. I will list them again to keep you from wondering:

What kind of people do you prefer to skate with?<\/strong>
\nI like to ride with skaters that ride all types of terrain and have good attitudes. I don\u2019t need to surround myself with negative people that are no fun to skate with. I get stoked on people that just ride what they want. I\u2019m not into skating with people that are trying to blow me away at every session and trying to be \u201cthe guy\u201d. As Matt Dyck once said, \u201cthere is no guy\u201d. Whoever is having the most fun wins. I am stoked on people that make the most out of what they have. I don\u2019t care for people that don\u2019t make something happen for themselves and complain that they are not included in new discoveries when they have done absolutely no work. If you work to make spots happen then you will reap the rewards from that work. It is way punker to make your own scene happen than to sponge off someone else\u2019s.<\/p>\n
