In 1975 the first Guinness Book of World Records for skateboarding were established. The events were speed, skateboard high jump and the barrel jump. The first skateboard picture published in the Guinness Book was of Tony Alva posting a world record jump at the 1975 USSA World Invitational Skateboard Championships at Jack Murphy Stadium in San Diego. In this shot, a couple of months later, TA is trying to break his record at the California State Skateboard Championships at Escape Country (Trabuco Canyon). Oh yeah. These jumps were board to board.
