John Davis (Superdrag), Stewart Pack (Pegclimber), Nick Raskulinecz (world-class Rock producer) and Nick Slack (Pink Spiders, Har Mar Superstar) are on a mission to get you stoked-out. According to the Nashville Scene, “the band’s 36-Hour EP ranks right up there with OFF!’s First Four EPs in terms of tight, concise, contemporary ‘skate or die’ statements.” Translation: get some!
A NOTE FROM THE BAND
For those who don’t know, EPIC DITCH is the new thing from John Davis (Superdrag), Nick Raskulinecz, Stewart Pack (Pegclimber, One-Nine Hundreds) and Nick Slack (Slack, Pink Spiders). Proper Punk Rock/Skate Rock from the SST Records school, designed to keep the stoke flowing. If you need further credentials, John’s been Lthe engine behind Superdrag for the past 18 years, and appeared on records by Knoxville Punk institutions like 30 Amp Fuse and The Used (To Be). Nick Raskulinecz is best-known as a world-class producer, and his client list (Foo Fighters, Alice In Chains, Stone Sour, Danzig, Rush) is pretty ridiculous. Stewart Pack is an unstoppable songwriting machine who’s lent his impeccable graphic design and photography skills to every Superdrag and John Davis album package since Last Call For Vitriol. Nick Slack is a ripping drummer. He’s been knocking ‘em through the floor for years with respected Nashville bands like Slack and the Pink Spiders.
After kicking the idea around hypothetically for a couple of months (and writing a grip of songs—23, last time we checked!), the guys loaded into Nashville’s venerable Blackbird Studio one weekend back in January and emerged with a solid 6-song EP. If you’ve been trawling the social networks, checking out the demos, roughs, and session photos, looking for a place you can download the jams, then we’ve got good news for you—the wait is officially over.
