The Tom Blake Scrapbook Special Edition

The Tom Blake Scrapbook
Small Print Run Special Edition

This is the holy grail of photos, clippings and cards with handwritten comments by the pioneer surfer and innovator himself.

At one time, the scrapbook was almost lost to posterity. Caught in a flood and badly damaged, it was cut up with a scalpel or razor blade and was in terrible shape until it was brought back to almost mint condition by Croul Publications with the help of Art Brewer Photography.

At 64 pages in a large, landscape format, with scores of images and amazing firsthand inside information and observation, it is a remarkable journey back in time to the 1920s – 1940s, especially in Hawaii, but also in California and on the East Coast. Fascinating hours can be spent browsing through it without catching every little nuance and nugget of insight.

It was this scrapbook that provided much of the imagery that was used in our biography “Tom Blake: The Uncommon Journey of a Pioneer Waterman” by Gary Lynch and Malcolm Gault-Williams. In fact, the Tom Blake Scrapbook is an almost essential companion piece for that definitive work.

The Tom Blake Scrapbook is now available for $150 in a small printing of less than 300 copies with free shipping and any sales tax due paid by the publisher.
