And what does meeting our goal mean? It means youth in Baltimore will be able to skate in a safe place. It means families will visit Hampden and boost the local economy. It means that Baltimore will no longer be the only major U.S. city without a quality public skatepark to serve local youth.

We’ve come a long way since Skatepark of Baltimore was formed 7 years ago. We’ve discovered our site at Roosevelt Park in Hampden, created a custom design based on community input, and received a matching grant up to $75,000 from the Baltimore Department of Rec and Parks. Now we’re almost ready to break ground… but first we need $7,857 from donors like you in order to get that full matching gift amount.
