From one year to the next it is unbelievable how the lines and tricks get gnarlier and gnarlier in the unforgiving combi pool. Old veterans and young upstarts show up and push the limits in front of a roaring crowd that just can’t get enough. Almost every vert and bowl legend we grew up hearing about over the last three decades give it their all in an atmosphere of camaraderie and aggression you really can’t describe with words. This is something you just have to witness at least once in your lifetime. You will walk away with unforgettable memories of insane sessions featuring three generations of skate crews, the likes of which have never been witnessed together in one day in the history of concrete bowl riding.

From teenage rippers like Morgan Burgess, vert soldiers like Bucky Lasek, to 40 plus pool legends like the Alba brothers, pool riding has stood the test of time to continue to thrive in a modern day explosion of concrete park building. Here’s to the Vans Pro-tec pool party in the kick ass combi pool. We owe a big thanks to the guys at Vans like Chris Overholser for helping to run a killer event and Steve Van Doren who, when he is not flipping burgers for people on the street course, is enabling all of us to enjoy a great weekend of pool skating and hanging with great friends at a great skatepark. It is a mind-blowing weekend and an honor to be a part of. Thanks for keeping the combi pool alive. We’ll see you next time. Skate tough.
