Press Release:

This June, July and August, Lightly Salted, a surf shop and art gallery on the Asbury Park Boardwalk, will select three surfboard shapers from a worldwide arsenal to partake in a program of surfboard shaping, demos and speaking engagements. The Shapestream program was designed specifically to promote and showcase the craftsmanship and artistry of surfboard shaping.

Each selected shaper will be given full access to shaping facilities while staying in Asbury Park, NJ. They will be housed is a fully refit 26’ 1967 Airstream Overlander and have full access to all beaches in Asbury Park, along with a travel stipend.  Each shaper will have dinner supplied by Lightly Salted’s sister restaurants, Langosta Lounge, Pop’s Garage and Libby’s Beach Shack, along with two brand new bicycles used to explore Asbury Park and the surrounding area.

In exchange for their stay, each shaper will be asked to produce a minimum of six surfboard shapes (of their choosing) for sale through custom orders or through lightly salted retail shop. This will be complemented by demos and speaking engagements focused on the specifics of their individual craft and areas of concentration.
