“We haven’t played a show here in a long time, and when I saw all the important issues facing the South Bay at the moment, I knew we had to put together a benefit show to help Surfrider protect our ocean and beaches,” Pennywise frontman Jim Lindberg said in an exclusive IROCKE interview.  Lindberg is on the Board of Directors at Surfrider and a longtime supporter of ocean-related causes.  “We’re going to be playing a bunch of old unreleased songs that no one except some of the locals have ever heard before so it’ll definitely be a unique webcast.”   Watch the exclusive Pennywise interview with IROCKE’s Alyssa Morin for more from her interview with the band.

Those who didn’t get tickets to the sold out show, those who live too far, those with kids at home and no sitter…no one has to miss this historic Pennywise performance. IROCKE allows fans that cannot attend to watch it LIVE and in high definition, with multi-camera views of the concert on their computers, tablets or mobile devices. Viewers from across the globe will have an all-access pass to experience the hard-charging music live by one of America’s seminal punk rock bands of all times.

“Pennywise have been supporters of Surfrider for decades and this show is a perfect opportunity for us to showcase our mutual interest in the protection of the world’s oceans, waves and beaches,” said Steve Blank, Director of Development for the Surfrider Foundation.  “Even better is the fact that we are able to hold the show in the band’s hometown of Hermosa Beach, and when Saint Rocke said they would host the concert and IROCKE signed on to broadcast it live, we had “the perfect storm.” This is an incredible opportunity to deliver some great music for Pennywise fans worldwide all while benefitting Surfrider’s efforts.”

About Pennywise
Pennywise joined in Hermosa Beach in 1988. The South Bay has a prominent place in punk culture, with upstart groups like Black Flag, The Circle Jerks and Descendants merging a fast rebellious sound with the surrounding aggressive surf and skate culture. Inspired by their predecessors, Pennywise were at the forefront of a second wave of American punk rock that would catapult the movement from a tight nit subculture into a worldwide movement.
