International Skateboard Film Festival takes place in Prague, Czech Republic, Nov 1-3, 2013

For the first time in history the celebration of skateboarding in the form of international film festival is going to take place in Prague, Czech republic. The visitors can expect screenings of the best films produced in recent times, as well as festival competition, a series of workshops, a photography exhibition and much more.

This year, the International Skateboard Film Festival, will traditionally take place in the world’s mecca of the sport, Los Angeles, California. Prague, however, hosts the festival two weeks earlier, which means, that several films by recognized productions would have world’s premiere there.

The festival audience will be also introduced to Best of 2012 with two most successful films of last year – DC: Waiting for Lightning and Bones Brigade: An Autobiography. The screening complete films by independent productions within the festival competition, which is divided into seven categories. The winner of each of them would receive an award together with special prizes. The European competition has already signed in Spanish Javier Viqueira, Frenchman Sebastian Abes, from local filmmakers Tomas Vorel with Skate Gravity, recently premiered FOTR 2013 or Merge Studio with film shot in Prague´s underground. The main goal of the festival is to introduce the broad community with skateboard themed films and – together with their creators and athletes – award and celebrate their contribution to skateboarding and film culture. The festival is opened to children and adults, filmmakers and enthusiasts, skateboard pros and amateurs. The event is also a very rewarding leisure activity for kids – they would have a great opportunity to meet their role models, learn about their life stories during the seminars and learn something new at one of the creative workshops. The whole event will be held from Friday to Sunday, the first three days of November in the Exhibition Palace of National Gallery in Prague. The festival space will offer a projection room, which will serve as the workshop venue as well, a café and a large hall for the announcement of the winning films and evening music program.
