HITTIN’ TILES

Skateboarding has officially infiltrated design in all areas. Check out this press release for the Skate Tile Collection.

PRESS RELEASE:

Imagine Tile & Art of Board Introduces Ceramic Skate Tile Collection: Imagine Tile, the industry leader pioneering the use of high-resolution imagery on commercially rated ceramic tile, is excited to introduce their first-ever collaboration with Art of Board. The collection is an original photo-realistic tile that embraces a used skateboard’s scratches, gouges, and worn graphics, taking the art of skating beyond the streets. Art of Board, a lifestyle brand that embodies the creative spirit, freedom and individuality of skateboarding, worked with Imagine Tile to preserve and pay homage to the graphic art that adorns skateboard decks.

The first release of this collection, which is now available, features 24 varying patterns with alternating colors and textures unique to the skateboarding culture. The 3-inch by 6-inch ceramic wall tiles have a standard finish. The second part of this collaboration, expected to be released spring 2013, will include floor tile with a commercial floor rating suitable for both interior and exterior use.

This collection also benefits skateboard charities and skate parks including: Life Rolls On, a subsidiary of the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation, the Tony Hawk Foundation and Make-A-Wish Foundation, among others.
