Air + Style 2015

Shaun White will bring the Air + Style event to the U.S. for the first time to Pasadena’s Rose Bowl on Saturday, Feb. 21 and Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015.

“Air + Style brings together my personal and professional interests in a unique and cool way,” said White. “Seeing sports, music, fashion, art and culture collide at a venue like the Rose Bowl is going to be awesome. The Rose Bowl is an iconic stadium that carries meaning for the residents of Pasadena, the city of Los Angeles and college football fans across the USA.   It felt like a natural fit for such a unique event. Air + Style has been an international event since 1993. I have traveled the world snowboarding and having recently toured internationally with my band BAD THINGS.  It was cool to see how people around the world react to sports and music in such different yet similar ways. Air + Style brings these worlds together. This event has so many elements (food, art, music, sports) and appeals to people of all ages. I love that all my friends and family can come and enjoy the two-day experience.“

Air + Style is an international event that blends world-class action sports talent with live music, fashion, art, lifestyle trends and food.  The competitors will be tackling a 16-story high, 500 foot-long ramp via a jump takeoff of 10-feet tall and a 40-foot wide landing zone, all designed by Snow Park Technologies.

“I am so excited to be able to bring Shaun’s vision to life,“ said Keith Yokomoto, Chief Operating Officer of Shaun White Enterprises.  “When he first purchased Air + Style, Shaun envisioned bringing the event to the United States and being in America’s stadium, the Rose Bowl was a natural. I hope that the growth of snowboarding in the 21 years Shaun has been involved in the sport will take another step with this event. It will be exciting to see the convergence of action sports, music, art and culture, which has been so much a part of his life. I get excited just thinking about snow coming to Pasadena!“

Air + Style is a reflection of Shaun White’s lifestyle involving sporting elements that will include snowboarding, skiing, skateboarding and BMX; music from three stages inside and outside the Rose Bowl; an interactive kids area; a fashion show; technology; cuisine; gaming; and art reflected throughout the venue.

White will participate in snowboarding and skateboarding exhibitions. The entire list of world-class competitors will be announced soon.  White will perform with his band, “Bad Things”, and other musical performers will be announced soon.  Musical acts will perform throughout the day outside the Rose Bowl with the final concert each night at 8 p.m. inside the Rose Bowl.

Sixteen snowboarders and sixteen skiers representing the best in the world will compete.  Eight snowboarders will be invited and the other eight will qualify from the events in Innsbruck and Beijing.  The Association of Free Skiing Professionals has designated the Pasadena Air + Style event as a “platinum” event ensuring the top professionals.

Tickets for Air + Style will go on sale today through all Ticketmaster outlets. Two-day tickets are priced at $189 and $139.  VIP tickets will be available through Rose Bowl Premium Seating.

Food, fashion and art will also be featured over the two-days.  A host of celebrity chefs will be participating along with the top food trucks and vendors.  Fashion shows will be held on the surrounding grounds and on the snow ramp and art will be on display through a public graffiti wall, giant digital displays, nightly light shows and art galleries throughout the venue.
