Double Decker Am Jam 2012

From Florida to Philly, some of the best Ams on the right coast descended upon Double Decker Skatepark in Fayetteville, NC, for two days to compete for $5,000 in cash and prizes at the 2012 Am Jam. The heat index outside was at record highs and the skating inside was next level. The talent pool of skaters on the East Coast is on par with the best skaters in the world. The warm up sessions were heated and most of the highlights from the two day event went down during the jams. Day one was qualifying and after the prelims, Daville Skate Shop handled the extra curricular activities with a video premiere of their latest effort titled, “Middle Class.” It seemed as if everyone from the contest was there, the video was on point and the crowd was hyped. The party went on until the early A.M. and a big shout out to Terry Grimble from Daville Skate Shop for his epic hosting.  The next day, the finals were on and the skating stepped up to the next level. Everyone brought their A game and the pressure was on to go big for the money. The level of skating that went down would give a lot of pros a run for their money, which made the judging a difficult task. In the end, everyone had a good time and showed that the talent pool on the East Coast is at a really high level. Big shout out to Tim from Double Decker for creating and hosting the event. See ya in the Spring.
